The Seattle Seahawks beat the New England Patriots 29-13 in the Super Bowl at Levi's Stadium on Sunday, securing the franchise's second ever championship! Seattle’s defense was dominant from start to finish, forcing three turnovers and recording six sacks on the way to winning their first Super Bowl since 2013.
After jumping out to a 9-0 lead heading into halftime, Seattle scored two touchdowns in the fourth quarter to put the game out of reach. In addition to a historic defensive showing, running back Kenneth Walker III led the charge with a game-high 135 rushing yards on his way to being named the Super Bowl MVP.
"If I would have told myself as a kid, I wouldn't have guessed that I would be the one to win the MVP so it's a surreal moment," Walker told the media following the Super Bowl win. Walker was the first running back to take home the Super Bowl MVP honors since Denver Broncos running back Terrell Davis in 1998.
Seattle head coach Mike Macdonald became the third youngest head coach to win a Super Bowl in just his second season with the franchise, while quarterback Sam Darnold capped off one of the NFL's most unlikely journeys – going from a being a backup just two years ago to winning a world championship.
