NBA: Spoken Truth Podcast live reaction to second round action
On the most recent live episode of the Spoken Truth Podcast, we discussed and reacted to the second round action around the NBA playoffs on Tuesday night. The Miami Heat took down the Philadelphia 76ers 120-85 to regain the series lead, before the Phoenix Suns used a dominant third quarter to defeat the Dallas Mavericks 110-80 in Game 5. Devin Booker scored a team-high 28 points in the win as Phoenix outscored Dallas 61-34 in the second half. Jimmy Butler continued to play at an elite level for the Heat, going for a game-high 23 points and nine rebounds in the blowout win. Philadelphia got back into the series when Joel Embiid returned to the lineup but now there's no room for error as they host Game 6 on Thursday. The Mavericks offense struggled tonight in the loss after playing so well at home over the weekend.
We also talked about the Golden State Warriors taking a 3-1 lead over the Memphis Grizzlies. Despite starting 0/16 from 3-point range and scoring just 38 points in the first half, Golden State eventually found a rhythm as Stephen Curry scored 18 points in the fourth quarter. Dillon Brooks and Desmond Bane combined to go 8/27 from the field in the loss. Danny Murphy, Charles Post and Tunde Aduroja also talked about the Boston Celtics coming back to beat the Milwaukee Bucks 116-108 to even the series behind Al Horford's playoff career-high 30 points. The Celtics trailed by double digits before shooting 84% from the field and outscoring the Bucks 43-28 in the fourth quarter.
