MLB: Who will win the World Series?

We pulled together World Series odds, predictions, and projections from 127 sources, including CBS, FiveThirtyEight, OddsShark, Sports Illustrated, The Ringer, and more in an attempt to accurately predict who gets to, and wins, the 2020 World Series title. We waited until after the Wild Card round, so there are eight teams that qualified including the Dodgers, Rays, Yankees, Astros, and Braves leading the way. Below are the full results that we calculated.

World Series Odds:

1. Dodgers (41.5%)

2. Rays (15.3%)

3. Yankees (14.4%)

4. Astros (8.7%)

5. Braves (7.9%)

6. Athletics (5.5%)

7. Padres (4.8%) 8. Marlins (1.9%)

The last time a team was such heavy favorites (more than 40% odds) was the 2016 Chicago Cubs (43.3%), who went onto win the title. The favorite at this point in 2017 was the Dodgers (24.2%), followed by the Red Sox (35.0%) in 2018, and the Astros (26.6%) in 2019. Boston was the only one of those three to win it all as the other two lost in the World Series. According to the numbers, we should see the Dodgers defeat either the Rays or Yankees for their first world title since 1988.
