The Miami Redhawks take an NCAA-best 18-0 record into a battle against the Buffalo Bulls on Saturday at Millett Hall! There is a lot on the line as Miami aims to continue their historic season by remaining one of the NCAA's three undefeated teams, while also extending a school-record 25-game win streak at home.
Both programs are in contention for the MAC title as Miami leads the league with 93.3 points per game, compared to Buffalo ranking among the top defenses with 72.7 points allowed. Miami opened as a 9.5-point favorite over Buffalo with the over/under placed at 159.5 total points per FanDuel Sportsbook.
Miami enters the matchup with a perfect 18-0 record, highlighted by recent wins over Akron, Bowling Green and Toledo. The Redhawks are fueled by forward Brant Byers (team-high 15.1 points and 4.5 rebounds per game), guards Peter Suder and Luke Skaljac, and Rutgers transfer forward Antwone Woolfolk.
Buffalo comes into the game with a 13-4 record and wins over DePaul, Green Bay and Western Michigan. The Bulls are powered by Wisconsin transfer guard Daniel Freitag (MAC-best 20.3 points and 3.3 assists per game), Villanova transfer guard Angelo Brizzi, forward Ryan Sabol and center Tim Oboh.
With a win over Buffalo, the Redhawks would remain one of just three teams to still be unbeaten this year, along with the top ranked Arizona Wildcats (17-0) and Nebraska Cornhuskers (17-0). "We have to make a statement every time we step on the floor,” Miami head coach Travis Steele told the media.
