NBA: 2020 Mock Draft 2.0
1. Golden State Warriors: Anthony Edwards (Georgia/SG): In our NBA Mock Draft Vol. 1, we had the Warriors taking Obi Toppin, but according to multiple reports, the team is leaning towards Edwards. It seems like Golden State would have to move Draymond Green or Andrew Wiggins in order for this to work but we'll see what they do. Edwards put up 19.1 points and 5.2 rebounds per game in one year at Georgia, and his offensive game is NBA-ready.
NBA Comp: Caris LeVert
2. Cleveland Cavaliers: Obi Toppin (Dayton/PF): Toppin slides down one spot, where the Cavaliers would almost certainly take him. Cleveland seems like they're ready to move on from Kevin Love (and vice versa), and the AP Player of the Year could side into the power forward slot. He averaged 20.0 points and 7.5 rebounds per game with Dayton last season and would join a young team alongside Collin Sexton, Darius Garland, and Larry Nance.
NBA Comp: Kenyon Martin
3. Minnesota Timberwolves: LaMelo Ball (United States/PG): If Ball is still available at this spot, it's pretty much a lock that the Timberwolves will take him. They desperately need a playmaker to pair with scorers D'Angelo Russell and Karl-Anthony Towns. The 6'8 point guard averaged 17.0 points, 7.6 rebounds, and 6.8 assists per game in Australia last year and could fit in the backcourt alongside Jarrett Culver and Russell if they wanted.
NBA Comp: De'Aaron Fox
4. Atlanta Hawks: Isaac Okoro (Auburn/SF): Okoro might be the first surprise but the Hawks don't need a point guard in a point guard heavy draft class, so we have them (slightly) reaching for the 6'6 shooting guard. He averaged 12.8 points and 4.4 rebounds per game in one season at Auburn before declaring for the draft. He is extremely athletic and will look to get out on the break with Clint Capela, John Collins, and Trae Young.
NBA Comp: Otto Porter Jr.
5. Detroit Pistons: Cole Anthony (North Carolina/PG): Detroit's front office has to ask themselves if they want to finally draft a point guard for the future. They have been looking for a franchise PG since Chauncey Billups was traded in 2008 and Cole Anthony might be the guy. The 6'3 point guard averaged 18.5 points and 5.7 rebounds in one year with North Carolina. He would get a chance to learn under Derrick Rose, which could help him a lot.
NBA Comp: Fred VanVleet
