France vs. Uruguay: France finally looked like the team we've been expecting to see. The Frenchmen proved that they can outscore opponents and not just slip by them. Kylian Mbappe was the best player on the field for much of the 90 minutes against Argentina and he created at least five scoring opportunities. On the first one, he drew a foul in the box and Antoine Griezmann connected on his second penalty kick of the tournament. Then Mbappe scored two goals of his own to secure a 4-3 win. On the other side, Uruguay survived a late scare from Portugal. Edinson Cavani scored both of their goals and he now has their last three scores. Unfortunately, he limped off in the second half of their 2-1 win. Cavani's health will have a major impact on this one.

Belgium vs. Brazil: Belgium was in hot water for awhile against Japan as they fell down 2-0, and then they quickly turned it on to tie the game 2-2. Marouane Fellaini scored the second goal on a header to bring Belgium back. Both goals were scored within five minutes of each other. The match-winning goal was scored in the 94th minute by Nacer Chadli on a beautiful break that was started by keeper Thibaut Courtois and Kevin De Bruyne. Belgium escaped with a 3-2, but a similar performance likely won't be good enough against Brazil. Brazil won their match, 2-0, against Mexico in the Round of 16. Neymar Jr. got the scoring going and then a late score by Roberto Firmino sealed the win over Mexico. Look for Brazil to try and slow this game down.

Croatia vs. Russia: Croatia had a chance to win their match with Denmark in the 118th minute on a Luka Modrić penalty, but he couldn't find the back of the net. Fortunately for him, Croatia was able to fend off Denmark in penalty kicks, winning 4-3. Ivan Rakitić put away the winning shot. As for Russia, they also won in PKs. It was a wild match in which Spain held the possession for 74 percent of the first 90 minutes, and were only able to score once. Russia decided to sit back for much of extra time and try to hold out for penalties. They fought off a bunch of Spain attacks, and then clipped the 2010 World Cup champions in the shootout. Croatia, who is 4-0-0, is clearly the better team, but Russia is playing with extreme confidence and won't go quietly.

Sweden vs. England: Sweden has really turned it on lately, and their last two victories have been impressive, against Mexico (3-0) and Switzerland (1-0). After Emil Forsberg's 66th minute goal, Sweden was able to hang on down the stretch. It's another win that only adds more confidence to Sweden. On the other side, England got past Colombia in penalty kicks. Harry Kane scored his sixth goal of the tournament, which leads everyone, and allowed England to hold a 1-0 for much of the second half. However, in the 93rd minute, Colombia pulled the match even on a corner. England has struggled getting past their penalty troubles for decades, but finally got past it. Now, they'll look to upset Sweden and reach the semifinals.
