CFB: Lay Off Jim Harbaugh

This is Michigan. Yes, everybody knows that coined phrase - It is true however. Michigan is held at a higher standard than most colleges, which is why fans are growing increasingly impatient with the so called savior, Jim Harbaugh, who hasn't really delivered all that much on paper.

But here is what he has done - He defeated Michigan State twice, but only walked away with one win, he beat Ohio State on the road but couldn't beat the referees, he has turned Michigan into a top-10 contender, and he has cut out all the silly issues Brady Hoke and Rich Rodriguez had (i.e. the Shane Morris disaster).

Harbaugh, additionally, has attracted Nike back to Michigan, which is a lot of revenue for the university which ultimately goes towards the team. Harbaugh has again, made Michigan into that fierce team that was dreaded by opponents instead of that laughing stock of a team Hoke set in place.

Yet nobody seems to cut him slack, even though he doesn't have his full class of recruits on his team, and took over a bowl-less 5-7 Michigan team. So why do we hold him to the standard of somebody like Nick Saban and Alabama? The title of being Michigan, that is why.

Harbaugh, in reality has been exceptional so far (and better than I personally had thought so). Michigan has seen back-to-back 10+ wins seasons after eight years of sadness. Sounds very good to me. Not to mention he almost qualified for a College Football Playoff berth in just his second season of this "rebuild." Listen, Harbaugh won't bring Michigan back to what they were, he'll put them above what they were with national championships, and a dethroning of Alabama. Just give him some time.
