NFL: How Does Elliott Fit in Dallas?

Ezekiel Elliott was one of the best running backs in Ohio State history, and that is saying something with the players that have gone through there. He racked up 3,961 rushing yards which is second in school history, and gained 6.7 yards per carry in his three seasons as a Buckeye.
His final two years is where he really broke out. In 2014, Elliot led the Buckeyes to a National Championship and he followed that up with 23 touchdowns (43 for his career) in his junior year. He also averaged 7.6 yards per catch coming out of the backfield, last season.
There is no question that Elliott is a good player and has an extremely high ceiling, but there is question how he will fit in Dallas. The Cowboys were not too good in the rushing category last season, finishing ninth in yards per game (118.1), 20th in rushing touchdowns (8), 21st in first down percentage (20.4), and had a total of seven fumbles.
Elliott will have to step in immediately and make an impact for this team to be successful. Joseph Randle, who was the starting running back in 2015 has been released after another run in with the law and former collegiate superstar Darren McFadden has underperformed for the majority of his career. McFadden had three touchdowns in 10 games and 239 attempts last season.
After a 4-12 season last year, the Cowboys have a positive outlook on their 2016 campaign. In the offseason, they signed running back Alfred Morris who will create a good duo alongside Elliott. The Cowboys will also be returning their starting quarterback Tony Romo who missed most of last season with multiple injuries. Dallas also has one of the best offensive lines in the NFL. If the defense can improve in some areas, this will be a team to look out for.
Elliott is going to fit in very nicely on Jerry Jones' team. He is a bright character who will shine under the lights in AT&T Stadium. I expect him to surpass 1,300 yards and 10 touchdowns in his rookie year, similar to Todd Gurley's 2015 season. The Cowboys got the player they wanted, and he is ready to be a superstar in the NFL.
