Shohei Ohtani continues to build résumé as one of the best players in MLB history after winning second straight World Series

Los Angeles Dodgers star hitter and starting pitcher Shohei Ohtani completed one of the most improbable postseason runs ever as he continues to build a strong résumé as one of the MLB's best players ever.

Ohtani was simply unreal on the way to winning a second straight World Series title — putting together what is widely-regarded as the greatest performance in MLB playoff history in Game 4 of the NLCS.

The 4-time MVP became the first player in MLB history to hit three home runs at the plate and record 10 strikeouts as a pitcher, throwing six scoreless innings en route to securing a berth in the World Series.

Prior to his MLB debut in 2018, it wasn’t a thought that a player could dominate as a hitter and pitcher but Ohtani has done just that, and now his accolades are starting to stack up against the all-time greats.

There is still a long way to go for him to truly be considered the best player in MLB history but it's not hyperbolic to think Ohtani could hold that honor after his once-in-a-lifetime career is all said and done.
