Oklahoma City Thunder open 2026 campaign as favorites to return to NBA Finals, repeat as champions

The Oklahoma City Thunder (+210) are the preseason favorites to win the NBA Finals for a second straight season as they attempt to become the first franchise to win back-to-back championships since 2018.

There are several other teams that are also legitimate contenders including the Cleveland Cavaliers (+650), Denver Nuggets (+750), New York Knicks (+1100) and Los Angeles Lakers (+1600). The Houston Rockets (+1700) and Minnesota Timberwolves (+1700) are projected to compete for a top seed as well.

The 2026 MVP race is expected to come down to Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (+160), Nikola Jokić (+300) and Luka Dončić (+400) but Giannis Antetokounmpo (+1200) and Victor Wembanyama (+1200) are also viable candidates. Meanwhile, Cooper Flagg (-220) is the favorite to take home Rookie of the Year.
