The Golden State Warriors are clicking on all cylinders with a league-best 15-2 record led by arguably the best player in the NBA Stephen Curry. Golden State is currently ranked #1 in defensive efficiency and #2 in offensive efficiency. The Warriors superstar is having another MVP-type season, averaging a league-best, 29.5 points, 6.5 assists, and a career-best 6.0 rebounds per game. With his current play, an argument could be made that Curry’s having the best season of his career, including his unanimous MVP season five years ago.
With a strong start to 2021-22, the Warriors are in prime position to make another championship run with contributions from the likes of Jordan Poole, Otto Porter, and Gary Payton II. The team is also anticipating the return of sophomore James Wiseman and Klay Thompson sooner rather than later. Thompson, who missed the last two seasons due to a torn ACL suffered in the 2019 NBA Finals and a torn Achilles in 2020, has been cleared for full-team practices this week. Both returns will benefit the Warriors on both sides of the ball. Wiseman brings much-needed size that the team desperately lacks.
While Thompson brings elite shooting, spacing, and other defensive presents to the ball club. Both players complement Curry and his off-the-ball play. However, Thompson paired with Curry seems to put the Warriors over the top. The dynamic duo is simply the greatest shooting backcourt in league history. With the team dominating start to this season, it seems like the Warriors are on a mission and out for revenge. Revenge on everyone who believed their dynasty was over and to the people who counted them out. The Warriors are on a mission to prove all their doubters wrong by capturing another championship this year.
