Michigan Wolverines head coach Sherrone Moore was fired following an investigation by the university found he engaged in an inappropriate relationship with a staff member. Moore was offensive coordinator on the national championship team in 2023 before being promoted to head coach prior to last season. According to several recent reports, Moore was later detained by police in Saline on Wednesday.
“Sherrone Moore has been terminated with cause. Following a university investigation, credible evidence was found that Moore engaged in an inappropriate relationship with a staff member. This constitutes a clear violation of university policy," Michigan athletic director Warde Manuel said in a recent statement. "Biff Poggi has been appointed head football coach in an interim capacity effective immediately.”
