Detroit Pistons defeat Boston Celtics 119-113 in home opener behind Ausar Thompson's double-double

The Detroit Pistons stormed back from a double digit deficit to take down the Boston Celtics 119-113 in the home opener at Little Caesars Arena on Sunday! Ausar Thompson recorded 21 points and 12 rebounds including a series of clutch buckets in the final minutes to help fuel the Pistons to a second straight win.

Thompson's his athleticism is top-tier but his work ethic is what sets him apart. In the win over the Celtics, Thompson was constantly cutting hard, defending at a high level and rebounding on both ends of the floor, and his two-way impact was the biggest reason why the Pistons were able to overcome a slow start.

The Celtics jumped out to a 19-2 lead as Jaylen Brown caught fire early on, but Detroit came back and held on for a win. Cade Cunningham posted a team-high 25 points and eight assists, and Jalen Duren recorded 24 points and 18 rebounds. Brown finished with a season-best 41 points in a third straight loss.
