Alex Michelsen defeated Jacob Fearnley 7-6, 6-3 to take home the 2026 Cranbrook Tennis Classic in Bloomfield Hills on Sunday! Michelsen entered the tournament as the top seed and now walks away with the fourth ATP Challenger title of his career.

Michelsen trailed 4-0 and 5-2 in the first set before coming back to win 7-6 in a tiebreaker. From there on, Michelsen completely dominated the second set to win the fourth annual Cranbrook Tennis Classic and move up to No. 40 in the ATP world rankings.

Coming off a loss to Fearnley in the first round at Wimbledon last month, Michelsen was hoping to get revenge and continue to find some confidence and rhythm following a recent injury. Michelsen did just that and clinched a spot in the U.S. Open!
