CFB: The Big 12's Big Finish

The Power Five's Most Powerful Moments - The Big 12's Big Finish:
"Fourth and five, the national championship on the line right here ... he's going for the corner ... got it!," said the legendary broadcaster, Keith Jackson. He was describing the greatest play a Big 12 team has ever done. Heisman runner-up, Vince Young, sealed the national title with a signature scramble. Both USC and Texas were undefeated coming into the title game, but USC favored by 7.0 points. The Trojans featured a one-of-a-kind player, Reggie Bush. He had won the Heisman trophy, but Texas limited him to under 100 yards for that game.
Texas, on the other hand, had a one-of-a-kind player of their own in Young. He completed 30-40 passes, throwing for 267 yards, with zero interceptions. The big story though, was his legs, rushing for 200 yards and three touchdowns on 19 attempts as a quarterback. USC led by 12 with just 6:42 to play, but Young was not going to let that game slip away from him. Both sides went back and forth up until then which featured Bush's back up running back, Lendale White, who ran for 124 yards on 20 attempts with three scores.
With under 4:03 left, Vince Young broke loose for a 17-yard touchdown run. Texas would go on to get the ball back when, on fourth down and five, USC had a chance to stop them. Young dropped back to throw and was chased out of the pocket, he then saw an opening and it was clear he wasn't going for the first down at that point, he was going for the throat. After waltzing into the end zone, he would also run it in on the two point conversion. Texas would go onto win 41-38.
The Big 12 is an amazing conference that is currently filled with high-powered and exciting offenses. A couple of honorable mentions to the best moment of the conference would start with Uwe's Kick, which was when Uwe Von Shuman hit a 41-yard field goal to defeat Woody Hayes and the Buckeyes at the Horse Shoe. The last would be TCU's Rose Bowl win over Wisconsin in 2011, led by quarterback Andy Dalton. Whether what you believe is the top moment is debatable, what's not is that the Big 12 has always been an excellent conference in college football.
