The No. 23 Wisconsin Badgers stormed back from a double-figure deficit in the second half to defeat the No. 9 Illinois Fighting Illini 91-88 in overtime as guard Nick Boyd took over in the Big Ten Tournament quarterfinals at the United Center on Friday!
Wisconsin was led by an unbelievable performance from backcourt tandem Boyd and John Blackwell. Boyd compiled a career-high 38 points, six assists and five rebounds, while Blackwell racked up 31 points and six rebounds in the thrilling comeback win.
It appeared Illinois would coast to the semifinals, before Boyd and Blackwell caught fire and kept the Badgers alive. Now, Wisconsin will face the No. 3 Michigan Wolverines with a berth in the Big Ten Tournament championship game on the line.
