The Prolific Prep Crew defeated the Long Island Lutheran Crusaders 81-80 in an overtime thriller in the Chipotle Nationals quarterfinals on Thursday night at Hamilton Southeastern High School in Indiana! Prolific Prep was powered by Kansas commit 2025 5-star guard Darryn Peterson putting up a game-high 28 points, 12 rebounds and eight assists, and Michigan commit 2025 4-star guard Winters Grady finishing with 21 points in the win.
Fresh off taking home McDonald’s All-American Co-MVP honors, Peterson continued to show why he’s arguably the top prospect in the 2025 class by coming up clutch in the last-second win. Prolific Prep trailed 68-67 until Peterson drilled a go-ahead 3-pointer with 8.4 seconds remaining in regulation. Long Island Lutheran made a pair of free throws to force overtime before Grady scored seven points in the extra period to help secure a spot in the semifinals.
Syracuse commit 2025 4-star guard Kiyan Anthony totaled 22 points but his potential game-tying shot came up short in the final seconds of overtime. Prolific Prep improved to 35-5 and will play Dynamic Prep School in the semifinals on Friday, while Long Island Lutheran finished the season with a 21-7 record. The Crew are on a quest for the first national championship in program history and Peterson seems determined to lead his team to the mountain top.
