NBA: Clippers hire Tyronn Lue
The Los Angeles Clippers have promoted assistant coach Tyronn Lue to head coach, following the recent firing of Doc Rivers. Lue played 11 years in the NBA with the Los Angeles Lakers, Washington Wizards, Orlando Magic, Atlanta Hawks, and others. He spent one year as the top assistant coach with the Clippers under Rivers after turning down the Lakers head coaching vacancy last summer. The 43-year-old was also an assistant under Rivers with the Boston Celtics from 2011-2013 before coaching LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers from 2016-2018. Lue went to the Finals in all three years with Cleveland, and he will look to bring the Clippers their first ever Finals appearance (and title) next season with Kawhi Leonard leading the way.
