NBA: Cade Cunningham's promising rookie year in review

After being selected with the #1 overall pick in the 2021 NBA Draft, Cade Cunningham made it clear that Detroit was where he wanted to be and the city has definitely embraced him since then. Despite finishing with the second worst record in the Eastern Conference, the Pistons seem to be headed in the right direction. Cunningham recorded a career-high 34 points, eight assists, eight rebounds and four blocks against the Nuggets in late January and racked up highlights throughout the year including winning the Rising Stars MVP, a stepback 3-pointer over Nikola Jokić, poster dunk on Corey Kispert and more. With the additions of Jaden Ivey and Jalen Duren, Detroit should continue to climb the conference ranks.
