The Michigan Wolverines are set to honor one of the program's best players as Trey Burke’s jersey will raised to the rafters at the Crisler Center on Friday! Burke won the 2013 National Player of the Year and Big Ten Player of the Year, and will be the sixth former Michigan player to have his jersey honored.

Burke’s illustrious career at Michigan was filled with iconic plays, including an unforgettable last-second shot in a thrilling Sweet Sixteen win over Kansas to a game-clinching steal and score to narrowly beat rival Michigan State in the final minute, and a remarkable run to the 2013 national championship game.

After winning 2012 Big Ten Freshman of the Year, Burke returned for his sophomore year with hopes of making history and he did just that – becoming the first player in school history to sweep the National Player of the Year awards and guiding the Wolverines to the Final Four for their first time in 20 years.

"Who would have thought that a kid from Columbus, Ohio was going to get his jersey retired at Michigan," Burke said in a recent interview. From under-the-radar recruit to rising star, and developing into the nation's best player, Burke's career will now be memorialized forever along with fellow Michigan icons!
