The No. 3 Michigan Wolverines took down the rival Ohio State Buckeyes 71-67 in the Big Ten Tournament quarterfinals as center Aday Mara dominated with a team-high 17 points, seven rebounds and two blocks to move to 30-2 at the United Center on Friday!
Michigan’s defense completely suffocated Ohio State by racking up six blocks and seven steals, which led to 22 fastbreak points and 19 points off turnovers. Following the win, the Wolverines are one step closer to winning a second straight Big Ten Tournament.
“Very hard-fought game. I thought our defense down the stretch was the difference. We buckled down," Michigan head coach Dusty May told the media. Now, the Wolverines will face the No. 23 Wisconsin Badgers in the Big Ten Tournament semifinals.
