The DeWitt Panthers routed the Grand Rapids Kenowa Hills Knights 59-21 to open the program's quest for the state title in the 2026 Amazon Prep Kickoff Classic at Tom Adams Field on Thursday!
DeWitt didn't waste any time by scoring a touchdown on the very first snap of the season as 2027 3-star quarterback Griffin Braman weaved through and past the defense for a 61-yard touchdown.
Michigan commit and 2027 3-star running back Lundon Hampton got the Knights back Into the game with a 3-yard touchdown run to cut the deficit to 10-7, but DeWitt dominated from then on.
DeWitt running back tandem Channing Ridley and Donovan Hillard completely took over by combining for five touchdowns to fuel the Panthers to a 59-21 and start the season with a bang.
"It felt amazing to be back out here," Hillard said in a postgame interview. "We started with a great game. We all played together as a team and came out with a victory so it was a great night."
