The Detroit Pistons host the New York Knicks in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference opening round on Thursday night at Little Caesars Arena! Detroit staved off a comeback to secure a 100-94 win at New York in Game 2, marking the first win for the Pistons in the NBA Playoffs since 2008.
Cade Cunningham went off for a team-high 33 points and 12 rebounds to propel Detroit to a series-tying win over the Knicks on Monday. It was an impressive performance for the Pistons as they held a 48-34 rebound edge en route to snapping the longest active losing streak in the playoffs.
Jalen Brunson finished with a game-best 37 points but it wasn’t quite enough to complete a second half comeback. Detroit led by as much as 15 points but the Knicks stormed back to tie it 94-94 before Dennis Schroder connected on a go-ahead 3-pointer with just over a minute remaining.
Both teams will definitely be desperate to pick up a win in a critical Game 3 as the series shifts to downtown Detroit. Despite picking up a road win, the Pistons are 1.5-point underdogs with the over/under set at 214.5 total points heading into their first home playoff game since 2019.
