The Detroit Lions are set to host the Houston Texans in the preseason finale on Saturday at Ford Field as the 2026 NFL campaign officially kicks off next weekend! Both teams are hoping to finish the preseason with a win before moving onto the regular season opener.
Following a 34-7 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers in the 2025 NFL Hall of Fame Game preseason opener, the Lions bounced back with a 17-10 win over the Atlanta Falcons but a late comeback attempt fell short in a 24-17 loss to the Miami Dolphins last week.
According to the latest odds on FanDuel Sportsbook, the Lions are 1.5-point favorites over the Texans with the over/under placed at 34.5 points. The Texans are 1-1 in the preseason including a 20-3 win against the Carolina Panthers in their most recent outing.
The Lions were upset in the NFC Divisional Round but finished 15-2 last year and are one of the favorites to compete for a Super Bowl heading into this season. Meanwhile, the Texans went 10-7 and are looking to reach the playoffs for a third consecutive season.
