The 2026 Amazon Prep Kickoff Classic features four marquee matchups and several top-rated prospects as the Michigan high school football season begins at Tom Adams Field in Detroit on Thursday and Friday!
"We're honored to kick off another exciting season of high school football in Michigan and to continue our commitment to Detroit," Detroit Sports Commission Executive Director Marty Dobek told the media.
No. 1 Detroit Catholic Central vs. Chippewa Valley
The defending state champion Detroit Catholic Central are led by 2027 4-star defensive back and Texas Tech commit Gideon Gash, and will face Chippewa Valley in the annual showcase on August 27 at 4:00 PM.
No. 3 DeWitt vs. No. 10 Grand Rapids Kenowa Hills
In a battle between two of the best teams in the state, DeWitt will take on Grand Rapids Kenowa Hills, powered by 2027 3-star running back and Michigan pledge Lundon Hampton on August 27 at 7:00 PM.
No. 9 Birmingham Groves vs. North Farmington
The former conference opponents are scheduled to renew their rivalry as Birmingham Groves and 2027 3-star running back Jeremiah Whitley will square off with North Farmington on August 28 at 4:00 PM.
No. 2 Detroit Cass Tech vs. Michigan City
After falling short in the state championship game last year, Detroit Cass Tech and 2028 4-star quarterback Donald Tabron will look to open this season with a win over Michigan City on August 28 at 7:00 PM.
