NFL: Deebo Samuel suffers injury

Chas Post

Deebo Samuel, a San Francisco 49ers wide receiver, has suffered a Jones fracture in his foot while working out with multiple teammates. The injury was announced on Thursday, June 18 and Samuel is expected to miss between 12-16 weeks which would put him back around some time in October or November. Samuel had a very strong rookie season as he helped the 49ers reach the Super Bowl. He played in 15 games, starting 11 of them, and totaled 802 receiving yards, 57 receptions, 14.1 yards per catch, and three touchdowns. He also ran for 159 yards, 11.4 yards per rush, and three rushing touchdowns. San Francisco could be without their top receiver for the beginning of the year which will make guys like Brandon Aiyuk, Travis Benjamin, Dante Pettis even more valuable.
