MLB: Players propose 114-game year
The Major League Baseball Players Association submitted a counter proposal on Monday, June 1 regarding resuming the 2020 season and beyond. It was reported that the players association proposed a 114-game schedule, which would be set to begin on June 30 and end on October 31. The owners and the league denied the proposal but it’s a starting point and hopefully we'll see all sides come together and make a final decision within the next couple of weeks. The players association also mentioned a potential deferral of salaries if the postseason had to be cancelled, two years of expanded playoffs, and a player have the ability to opt-out of the upcoming season if he chooses to do so. The season is expected to begin in late June or early July if they come to an agreement.
