NFL: Jameis signs with the Saints

Jameis Winston has signed a one-year deal with the New Orleans Saints, where he will back up Drew Brees next season and look to compete with Taysom Hill for a starting spot when Brees retires. Winston was the #1 pick in 2015 out of Florida State, where he won the national championship and Heisman Trophy, but he failed to make a major difference in Tampa Bay. He threw for a league-leading 5,109 passing yards and 33 touchdowns last season. He also completed 60.7% of his passes a year ago. Unfortunately for Winston, he also gave up 30 interceptions and became the first player in NFL history to have 30+ touchdowns and 30+ picks in the same season. After five weeks of free agency, Winston has signed with the Saints and he'll try to improve his stock heading into next spring.
