CBB: Who would've made the Final Four?

Kansas Jayhawks (28-3, 17-1): The Jayhawks are one of two obvious choices as they were projected to be the #1 seed in the Midwest Region in Jerry Palm's most recent bracketology on CBS Sports. In order to get there, according to my projections, Kansas would have to go through #16 Robert Morris, #8 Arizona State, #4 Kentucky, and #3 Duke to earn a trip to Atlanta in the Final Four. Devon Dotson led Kansas with 18.1 points and 4.0 assists per game.

Maryland Terrapins (24-7, 14-6): The Terrapins were a team that I thought could make it to the Final Four but I was never quite sold on them. But in Palm's field, Maryland benefits from the weakest region as they go through #14 UC Irvine, #6 Virginia, #2 Florida State, and #1 Baylor en route to being crowned as South Region champions. The Terps, who won a share of the Big Ten title, are led by the duo of Anthony Cowan and Jalen Smith.

Dayton Flyers (29-2, 18-0): The Flyers are running away with all of the postseason awards as Anthony Grant won national Coach of the Year, while Obi Toppin was named national Player of the Year. Toppin averaged 20.0 points and 7.5 rebounds per game. Dayton would walk into the Elite Eight with victories over #16 Winthrop, #8 Saint Mary's, and #4 Louisville, before taking down either #2 Villanova or #3 Michigan State in the East Region title game.

Gonzaga Bulldogs (31-2, 15-1): The Bulldogs are the final team that I project would have made the Final Four. They were one of the most consistent teams all year long and I don't think there is anyone in the West Region that could play with them, except maybe #4 Oregon in the Sweet Sixteen and #3 Seton Hall in the Elite Eight. Before those games, they would have eliminated #16 Siena and #8 Houston, with the help of Joel Ajayi and Killian Tillie.

Final Four: Kansas defeats Dayton: In the national semifinals, I think Kansas would move past Maryland with strong second half performances from Udoka Azubuike, Dotson, and Isaiah Moss. Dayton would then take down Gonzaga in the other semifinal, this one being an instant classic. Toppin pours in 25+ points and sends the Flyers to the national title game. This one would end just as their regular season game did, with Kansas barely on top in a thriller.
