NBA: Joe Johnson leads Triplets to title

Joe Johnson and the Triplets have won the 2019 edition of the Big 3, defeating the Killer 3s, 50-39, in the championship game on Sunday, September 1 at Staples Center in Los Angeles. Johnson, who won the league MVP, had a game-high 28 points, seven rebounds, and two assists in the victory, including the game-winning three-pointer. The Triplets led by five at halftime, but were up just 41-39 before ending the game on a 9-0 run to seal the win. Alan Anderson, who formerly played with the Brooklyn Nets, had 11 points and four assists for the winning side. On the losing end, Stephen Jackson had a team-high 21 points and six rebounds. The Triplets are now the third different team to win the Big 3 title, but Johnson might not be back, as he has drawn interest from the Los Angeles Clippers and Philadelphia 76ers.
