NBA: Dallas Deals For Porzingis

Earlier this afternoon Kristaps Porzingis left the New York Knicks front office to let them know he wanted to be traded, and just an hour later, it was reported that the Knicks were working on a deal to send Porzingis to the Dallas Mavericks. The deal includes the Knicks receiving DeAndre Jordan, Wesley Matthews, Dennis Smith Jr., and two future picks, in exchange for the Mavericks getting Porzingis, Trey Burke, Tim Hardaway Jr., and Courtney Lee. Smith is averaging 12.9 points on 34 percent three-point shooting, just two years after being drafted 9th overall. Burke is having a solid year, scoring 11.8 points. Porzingis, who is expected to miss the remainder of the year, averaged 22.7 points last year. It was also reported by USA Today that the Knicks may buy out Matthews, who could sign with the Houston Rockets.
