SOC: Ronaldo Heads To Juventus

Cristiano Ronaldo wants a new challenge. The 33-year-old will be heading to Juventus on a four-year deal worth $116 million contract in an unprecedented move. Ronaldo leaves Real Madrid after nine years with the club. The annual salary of this new deal will be 30 million euro per season, an astonishing amount. Ronaldo leaves Real Madrid as their record goal scorer, while also bringing four Champion League titles, two La Liga championships, and three FIFA Club World Cups. Before Madrid, Ronaldo was at Manchester United for six years, making this his third club move in 15 years. Ronaldo scored an incredible 311 goals in 292 appearances with Madrid. Juventus has won the last seven Serie A championships, and will only get better with Ronaldo.

Some of the notable players on Juventus are Douglas Costa, Juan Cuadrado, Paulo Dybala, Gonzalo Higuaín, and Mario Mandžukić. Ronaldo is fresh off of losing in the Round of 16 to Uruguay, representing the Portugal national team in the 2018 World Cup. He scored four goals in four matches, including a hat trick in the opening match against Spain, which ended in a 3-3 draw. Ronaldo appeared in three World Cups with Portugal, starting in 2006. Portugal reached the semifinals 12 years ago before losing to France. Since then, Ronaldo hasn't been able to get that far. They've lost twice in the Round of 16 and didn't get past the Group Stage in 2016. This is certainly a new challenge for one of the greatest ever, but Ronaldo will continue to shine.
