ATP: The Ferocious Four

The 2017 U.S. Open has delivered on it's annual promise to entertain the country (and the world) to the fullest. And it's been quite awhile since we've been treated to something this intoxicating. For the first time since 1985, there are four women of the same country, to reach the semifinals of a major event, and this is the first time since 1981 that it's happened at the U.S. Open. Venus Williams, Madison Keys, Coco Vandeweghe, and Sloane Stephens are the four women to complete a United States sweep, and they'll each look to advance to the championship match tonight. Williams and Stephens will begin the thrilling night in the famous Arthur Ashe Stadium. The former is the favorite, given her longstanding excellence.

She has a 29-10 record this year, and a total of 49 titles. Stephens, on the other hand, is the up-and-coming U.S. woman, who is most known for her upset of Serena Williams a few years back. Stephens is only 8-4 this year, after coming off of an injury. Keys and Vandeweghe will follow that and the two come in with one singles title combined, a far cry from Williams' prestige on the other side of the bracket. Keys is the favorite, by a slight margin, and if either of the matches are expected to go the distance, it's this one. No matter the results that will come following one of the most anticipated after nights in tennis this decade, the U.S. women have proven that they are the class of the sport, and even without Serena, they're a force to be reckoned with.

Prediction: (9) Williams (15) Keys advance.
